Friday Evening’. Dady Times Office, Friday Evening. He Australian Wheat Board ha«s advanced 1° P. rice oi wheat for flour for export to the East, South Africa, Pacific Elands, and. .New Zealand, June-Juiy shipment, fi«jm 7s Od to Ss per bushel. This makes the third increase in export flour whgat within the last fortnight, n all amounting to Is a bushel. Cable messages received by Lind ley Walker Co-operative Wheat Company, Ltd. (Melbourne), from its Liverpool agents throw igiht upon the advanced prices of wheat in the Punted States and Argentina. It was felt in the city that probably crop deterioration in the former country wa-s partly responsible for the hardening market, but the advance is attributed to tho Continental d mand. In regard to the crops generally, conditions pro- . a sufficiency of wheat for the coin .ng season, ard it is considered ihat possibly supplies may be abundant. A hen the Victorian Millowners’ Association reduced tlie prices of bran and pollard recently, the object was to encourage increased consumption of both commodities, but usei's3 have not been attracted, even though the decline amounted to £2 within a few days. Such being the case, the asecuia-tion has again revised prices of flour, bran, and pollard. Offal has been lowered £1 ner 20001 b to £9, and necessarily flour has been increased, the advanced being 7 s Gd, thue raising tho quotation to £29 15s per 20001 b. Tlie amended rates mean that flour has been advanced in price 255, and bran and pollard have been reduced £3 within a fortnight. The current rate fo- flour makes if almost certain that bakers will have no option but to increase the price of bread by id per loaf. LOCAL MARKETS.
