CANTERBURY CRAIN AND PRODUCE MARKET.

(Lyttelton Times, June 24.) Since mid-week little cliange has taken place in the grain and produce market. Gavton oats are inclined to be easier. Trade within the Dominion is only tair. The recent price has been justified by trade I with London, but the London market has eased. Algerians remain unaltered. _ Chaff is quiet. Considering the time of the year trade in chaff is very poor, principally on account of tho North Island not taking the usual quantity. There has been some business ia perennial and Italian ryegrass. Linseed continues to recede from its re- ! cent abnormal position. I here is a conflict I of opinion as to how the rise was caused, i Reas, which are principally an export line, | have practically all been shipped. Boiler business is being done in potatoes, j and prices will probably rise. There is an I improved demand from the North Island, i There are numerous inquiries, but farmers I arc not generally anxious to quit. I On account of the arrival of Victorians I there is- practically no business in onions, j Victorians have been quoted at £3 f.o.b. 1 Melbourne, which means a cost landed at I Wellington of about- £6 10s. I The following are quotations for produce, I to lie paid to farmers, at country stations, j free of commission, sacks extra, except i where otherwise stated: Milling Wheat. —According lo Covern- ! merit prices: 1 uscan. 7s 7Ad, f.0.b.; Hun- ! ters, 7s Oats. —“A” Cartons, 2s 9d to 2s lid; “B’’ I Cartons, 2s Sd to 2s 9d; Algerians, 2s to 2s Bd. j Chaff. —£3 10s to £3 15s.
