The first two houses built under the New Zealand Refrigerating Company’s building scheme at Islington have now been completed and occupied. They are both six-roomed, two-toried brick houses, with electric lighting, high pressure water supply, and every modern convenience. Two more houses of a similar kind will bo ready to be occupied at the end of the present month, but the remaining six will not be completed for some considerable time. T here is a very keen demand amongst the employees of ihe eonmnnv far these houses as they become available.
