MILITARY HOSPITALS.
TO PASS TO CIVIL CONTROL. M ELLINGTON, June 15. m the course of some remarks at a New Zealand Club luncheon to-day, Surgeongeneral Sir Donald M‘Gavin announced that in regard to military hospitals the stage had now been almost reached when they would have to bo taken over by the civil administrations. All the military hospitals were now running smoothly, but the soldier patients were decreasing, and for general reasons and reasons of economy it would bo better to have them under civil control. He had been discussing the matter with Dr Valintine, the head "of the Health Department, lately, and before long the change would be brought about.
