Balclutha, which took place recently. Deceased had been confined to bed for a few weeks, as the result of an accident, and seemed to be making good headway towards recovery, when serious symptoms developed, and he passed away on June 5, at his residence in Balclutha. Mr> Bower was wela, and favourably known in the Waiwera, Clinton, and Balclutha districts, and had done much to foster the game of draughts.
