AUCKLAND. Juno 15. At the Supreme Court Harold Raymond Bates, for indecent assault, was sentenced to two years’ reformative treatment; Harold Bruce Anderson, for false pretences (with previous convictions for cheque swindling), to five years’ reformative treatment; Thomas Hamilton, alias Butler (a Maori), for theft from a dwelling, to three years’ imprisonment ; Claude William Batt, for theft from an hotel, to two years’ probation ; Harold Melville Taylor, for the theft of two rings from a jeweller, was fined £200; Ralph David Matthews and William Kelly, for theft and breaking and entering, to 12 months’ imprisonment.
