TAIERI POULTRY CLUB

The thirty-third show of the Taieri Poultry, Pigeon, and Cage Bird Society was held at Mosgiel on Saturday. Good entries were forward in most classes, and while there were no outstanding birds, the exhibits were a good all-round lot, and were much admired bv the patrons of the show. 'the fixture had been allotted five championships—Utility Brown Leghorn, Utility White Plymouth Hock, Silver Wyandotte, Tumbler. Clean-legged (other than self), and English or African Owl. The first-named was secured by Messrs Smart Bros., the second by Mr J. Jackson, the third by Mr J. IS. White, while in the two last-named there was no competition. Mr R. 11. i homson’s White .Leghorn hen was classed by the judge as the best bird in the show. A d dry produce section was included in t!ie schedule, and liberal patronage was given this by the ladies of the town and distnei.
