COSTA RICA AND PANAMA
STATE OF WAR EXISTS. WASHINGTON, February 27. It is reported that a state of war exists between Costa Rica and Panama over the boundary dispute. Ihe situation is further aggravated by Costa, Rica’s action in cancelling the British oil concession. Great Britain has sent a Note, and a cruiser to back up her demands. It is not expected that Britain will take forcible action without notifying the United _ States, but such notification hae not yet been given. It is understood that the United States sides with Costa Rica, claiming that the concession was granted by the discredited Tinoco Government.
