OTAGO (180) v. CANTERBURY (167). An interprovincial bowling match, Canterbury v. Otago, was played on the St. Aibane green, Christchurch, on Thursday afternoon. There was a large crowd of spectators, and the play in tho different rinks was keenly followed. The match was an eight-rink one ot 25 heads, to be decided on aggregate points. The visitors came up with a hot combination, which included players from different parts of Otago province. They had a practice on the Canterbury green in the morning. Mr W. Hay, president of the Otago Centre, was in charge of the team. The St. Albans green was in good order, running very true, but on account of ‘■he recent rains was a bit dull at the commencement of the game, but it subsequently improved, and the majority of players soon, found the strength. At the start Canterbury got into the lead, but at the conclusion ot the ninth head Otago had drawn level with 61 all. At the 12th head Canterbury was 83 and Otago 80. The aggregate points at tire 16th head were: Canterbury 120, Otago 103, and at the 21st it was Canterbury 144, Otago 139. The visitors played much better in the last heads, and ran out winners by 13 points, the aggregates being: Otago 180 Canterbury 167 The match was very close, each team winning three rinks, and there were two ties.
