ASRRONOMICAL NOTES FOR MARCH.

THE SUN. The sun’s path for the month of March will be through the constellations of Aquarius and Pisces, in R.A. from 22.47.i2 t-o C. 37.36, in declination from 7.40.48 south to 4.3.9 north, and in longitude from 340.22.30 to 10.13.49. The equinox occurs* on the 20th of the month.

THE PLANETS. Mercury will be in R.A. from 22.53.47 to 22.57.59, and in south declination from 3.2.14 to 8.26.24. It will bo in conjunction with the moon on the Btli, and will be stationary on the 14th. It will be at its greatest and will be in aphelion on the 31st. Venus will be in R.A. from 1.29.17 to 2.22.8, and in north declination from 13.4.25 to 21.23.31. It will be in perihelion on the 2nd, and in conjunction with the moon on the 12th. It will bo at its greatest bel. lat. north on the 24th, and on the 16th of the month will attain its greatest brilliancy. Mars will be in R.A. from 0.45.51 to 2.9.7, and in north declination from 4.34.39 to 13.4.48. It will he in conjunction with the moon on the 11th. Jupiter wi 11 be in R.A. from 11.4.57 to 10.51.20, and ■ n north declination from 7.27.11 to 8.50.48. It will be in conjunction with the moon on the 22nd. Saturn will be in R.A. from 11.35.26 to 11.26.54, and in north declination from 5.13.15 to 6.9.12. It will be in conjunction with the moon on the 22nd.

THE MOON. The phases of the moon will be as follow:— Last Quarter 2nd 1.33 a.m. New Moon 10th 5.30 a.m. Eirst Quarter 17 th 3.19 p.m. Full Moon 24th 7.39 a.mj East Quarter 31st 9.43 p.m. Apogee 5th 1.30 p.m. Perigee 21st 0.36 p.m.
