STOCKS OF CEREALS
THE NOVEMBER CENSUS. SMALLER HOLDINGS OF WHEAT. A census of stocks of flour, wheat, and oats in the dominion was taken as at November 30. and the results have been published in the abstract of statistics. The Government Statistician states that returns were received covering all stocks owned or stored by millers, merchants, and farmers throughout the dominion, with a few unimportant exceptions that would not appreciably affect the totals obtained. Following is a summary of the position in regard to wheat and flour in comparison with the returns obtained in 1919 and 1918:
The stocks of oats amounted to 2,286,227 bushels, compared with 1,371,777 bushels in November, 1919. Oats in stork for thrash-
IHg were returned at 16,395 bushels and for chaffing at 18,569 tons.
