MILITARY FUNERALS.
There were two military funerals on the ! 19th in the district —one in Dunedin and one at Milton. No. 23,640 (R. \V. Watson), whose people live in Carnarvon street, Belleknowes, died at the Hospital on Monday from the effects of a gunshot wound on the spine. He had been a sufferer for some months, and his end was not unexpected. The body was conveyed to the Anderson’s Bay Cemetery on a gun-carriage, the coffin being literally covered with floral tributes. Captain Gustafson attended to represent the Defence Department, and Bugler Napier sounded the ‘T.a?.t Post.’ No. 45,056 (William Donald Anderson), whose relatives reside -t Lovell’s Flat, had been in ill-health since his return from the front about three years ago. His remains were buried in the Milton Cemetery.
