A resident visited a (lore fruiterer's and purchased apricots for 6d per lb (states the Mataura Ensign). Later in the day he arrived at Invercargill and visited a shop, with a view to securing' a further supply. The price quoted was lOd per lb, for fruit in exactly the same condition, and on entering yet another establishment he found that apricots were quoted at lid per lb.
