A fire in the millinery department of Strange’s establishment, Christchurch, completely gutted the work room, and much damage was done to the stock on two floors. The outbreak, (he origin of which is unknown, was quickly subdued by tho brigade. Tho premises had been closed since Friday. The insurances on part of tho building and stock are: On the building—Liverpool anil London and Globe, £4000; London Assurance, £2OOO. On the stock, £14,000 in English offices.
