MELBOURNE, January 3. The State revenue for the half-year was ‘ £7,500,000, an increase of £1,227,000 over ( the corresponding period of 1919. The commonwealth revenue for the half- . year ended December 31 is considerably s in excess of the estimate. The Customs < totalled £16,729,000, and the postal re- ] venue £3,931,000, being respectively i £7,146,000 and £605,000 above the receipts of the previous corresponding half-year. SYDNEY, January 4. The public debt of New South Wales totals £175,000,000, averaging £B2 per head. January 7. Mr John Storey (Premier), at the Labour Party’s official farewell banquet, said that whatever happened in regard to financial obligations the Mother State would never be guilty of repudiation. BRISBANE, January 4. The revenue for the half-year was £5,500,000, compared with £4,500,000 for the corresponding half of 1919. The expenditure was £6,000,000, an increase of £797,000 over the corresponding period of 1919. ADELAIDE, January 6. Speaking-at Victor Harbour, the Premier (Mr Barwell) said the financial outlook was uncertain, and industrial prospects were black. There was a small section of the community who were deliberately conspiring to dislocate industry and to produce widespread misery and distress. The Government intended to use every power to defeat and destroy the revolutionary forces.
