Representatives of the crossbred wooL growers at a conference unanimously passed a resolution: “That in view of the great difficulty experienced in the sale of crossbred wool, an Australian Crossbred Wool Committee be appointed for the purposa of forwarding the interests generally of the crossbred growers, also that a crossbred wool pool be formed.” THE AMERICAN PRODUCER. WASHINGTON, January 6. Mr F. J. Ilagenbarth, president of tha Na||nnal Wool "Growers’ Association, told the Senate Committee which is studying the Tariff Emergency Bill that the American wool men are being faced with ruin from foreign competition. He urged tha immediate enactment of a protective tariff to prevent the dumping of foreign wool in the United States. Mr Hagenbarth said that Uruguay wool was being sold at Boston for 20 cents per lb, while Western American wool realised only from 9 to 14 cents, which is less than the cost of production. He declared that the American growers were liquidating their breeding herds in order to meet expenses. SYNDICATE TO ACQUIRE OLD CLIP. LONDON, January 7. The Yorkshire Observer states that negotiations in connection with the Australian scheme are proceeding, and it is now regarded as certain to end in the transference of the surplus of the old clip from the Ministry of Munitions to the new syndicate.
