(From Oob Own Correspondent.) January 6. On the second day of the Manawatu meeting the three-year old filly La Paloma (Hallowmas —Helen Portland) won her first race. She repeated the performance on tho second day of the Wairarapa meeting. When she won at Awapuni she finished in front of All Cerise, by All Black —Martian Princess, who went on to Marton and won. Multive and Crosswords, winners of hurdlo races at Manawatu. went on to Hastings and scored In the jumpers flat races there. The connections of Multive were questioned at Awapuni, and it is reported they had a close call. Mr Murchison acted as stipendiary there.
