TYPHUS IN EASTERN EUROPE.
WORLD-WIDE APPEAL. WELLINGTON. January 8. Lord Milner, Secretary of State for fha Colonies, has cabled the Now Zealand Government, at the request of the Assembly of the League of Nations, making an “ urgent and immediate ” appeal for funds to assist in combating typhus in Eastern Europe, beginning in Poland. The appeal is being made to all countries of the world, and £2,000,000 i« required. _ The money may be forwarded to the Under-Secretary of Internal Affairs.
