LAND BOARD.

The meeting of the Otago Land Board, held on the 7th. was attended by Messrs «. T. Sadd (Commissioner of Crown Janets, chairman), Jas. Smith, T. A. Munro, C. J. Inder, and Geo. Livingstone. MOUNT PISA STATION. Applications for grants of areas without competition on Mount, Pisa Station from the following were declined: —lver Johnson William Reid, J. F. Smith, Markland and "Wilson, John Little, John F. Partridge, C. H. Swann, F. Swan, Annie Partridge, i. W. Partridge, John Anderson, Henry J. Hunt, Ernest M. Sanders, Patrick J. Heency, Jane Clark, H. L\ M'Pherson, Thomas O. M'Kay, Arthur Wood, Henry F. Hicks, J. Mills, Malcolm Ritchie, A. Semple, A. M. Henderson. George Henderson, Thomas Smith, F. Ball, jun. It was decided that applications for suitable areas from Jam©3 Dodds Anderson, Walter Little, Peter Vlietstra, William Clark, M. A. de Bettancor, Harry Thomas Vercoe, F. Ball, John Swann, Walter Johnson would be considered. CLIFTON SETTLEMENT. The following lessees on Clifton settlement applied for additional land as under: C. H. GfSiiam, holding section Is, applied for 2s; Robt. Gordon, holding section ss, applied for 7s and part 3s; Chas. S. Grant, holding section 9s, applied for 8s; H. Wright, holding section 163, applied for part 3s and part 4s; Chas. Cameron, holding ssction 20s, applied for 19s; Wm. Bolan, holding section 225, applied for 21s.— Applicants to be informed that the board is prepared to recommend certain additions to present holdings, provided applications for such are accompanied by the first halfjiear's rent. VAEIOHS APPLICATIONS. Michael E. M'Phee and David B. Glenn, the respective lessees of sections 4s and ss, Pukenui settlement, applied to have adjoining section 3s (76 acres) divided into two parts and to have one part allotted to each.—Recommended. sWilliam Henry Morrison and John H. TOlmie made a joint application to select section 2-3, block VI, Woodland S.D., and requested a reduction of valuation for improvements on account of the hut on the land partly demolished. —Granted at valuation of £l6. Rectus James Duniing applied for a renewable lease under section 129 of the Land Act, 1908, over the undermentioned areas: Part reserve 2246, Wilkin, 202 acres; part reserve 2246, Wilkin, 50 acres; area adjoining Makarora town, in block XII, Wilkin, 15 acres. —Granted, subject to Governor's approval, at 12s 6d per acre. John O'Neill applied to select an area of 18 acres of unsurveyed land in block I, Eraser district, fronting the Alexandra-Bald Hill Flat road.—Granted, subject to Governor's approval, at 5s per acre. D. A. Govan applied to purchase section 103, block IX, Leaning Rook district, at present held by him under yearly license.— Granted .subject to Governor's approval, at a capital value of £23 10s. S. W. Govan renewed his application for a lease over section 90, block IX, Leaning Rock district, the present lessee having Jailed to pay the required deposit.-—De-clined. Harry Rackley applied for a license over a crib site in the town of Hull. —Year-to-year license granted at annual rental of JEL. Aubrey C. Paterson applied to purchase an area in block XXIV, Waihola district.— Declined. David Ritchie applied for an occupation lease over section 7, block IV, Bannockburn district. —'Occupation lease granted at capital value £lls, annual rental of £5 15s, subject to payment of £4l 5s 3d for fencing; Crombie's grazing license cancelled. Alfred Westerman Marshall applied for an occupation lease over a.n estimated area of 12 acres of land between sections 66 and 61, Block I, Fraser district, and the main Clyde-Alexandra road.—Provisionally granted over area on ranger's sketch. P. R. Gordon and W. R. Gordon applied for occupation leases over areas in block I, Teviot district. —Declined. Reid and Lemon, on behalf of Donald M'Neill, applied to purchase the fee-simple of section 53, block IX, Glenomaru district, held under perpetual lease. —Approved. H. J. Latta applied for «, sawmill licens-e over section 5, block V, Woodland district, 250 acres and 350 acres in Rimu district, opposite sections 4 and 5, block V, Wood-

Thomas Lindsay applied to surrender license over part Railway Reserve, section 76, block IV, Moeraki district.—License cancelled. D. S. Middleton, holder of pastoral license of run 238 e (Northburn), applied to relinquish 1600 acres of the area so as to bring the run within the area that may be exchanged for small grazing ruin lease, for which Mr Middleton also applied.—Declined. Alexander Johnson, selector of section 4, block XIX, Tiger Hill Survey District (180 acres 3 roods, 27 poles) applied to have his holding enlarged, oir to have his selection cancelled. —Cancelled. George William Bowler, selector of section 5, block XIX, Tiger Hill Survey District (15 acres 3 roods), applied for cancellation ot' his lease, as he finds the land unsuitable for his requirements.—Cancelled. M. Moran applied to have granted to him section 94 (II), Tiger Hill Survey District (subdivision of Black's Commonage), in lieu of section 92, previously granted.—Granted at annual rental of 10s. Ranger O'Neill submitted a valuation of improvements on section 126, block X, Leaning Rock S.D. —Section to be weighted with £3O valuation for improvements. Ranger Atkinson submittedl a further report on the land fronting run 9 of 23, Kurow S.D., leased to Mrs Janet M. Munro, and suggested a reduction of rental.—Rental fixed at Is per acre per annum. Mrs T. Wilson advised that she had no further use for the reserve fronting section 5 and part block 111, Glenkenich District, over which Thomas Wilson had a right to occupy.—Right cancelled. The Vincent County Council submitted proposals for the expenditure of thirds and fourths accrued for the period ended July 31, amounting to £206 lis 7d. —Proposals approved and payment authorised.
