LOYALTY, TO ENGLISH UNION. . WELLINGTON, October 12. A conference of representatives of clubs affiliated to the Wellington Eugby Union was held to-night to consider the proposed amendments to the laws of Eugby. A resolution was passed affirming -loyalty to the English Union, and expressing determination to abide unreservedly by the rules of the International Board. The conference proceeded to discuss the proposed amendments, on the understanding that whatever decision was ultimately arrived at, it would not mean a breakaway from the English Union. All the proposed amendments were rejected, save those already affirmed by the English Union, and one which relates to kicking Into touch. from a penalty, or inside the kicker's fcwenty-five, in which case the ball shall be brought back into play in the usual way at a spot opposite to where it was kicked from.
