With reference to to-day's Press Association cabl9 message from Brisbane in regard to the Australasian boxing championships, it is explained that the Australasian agreement provides that the championships must bo held in September, and that the .promoting body must give the other associations interested two months' notice of the dates selected. In Juno the secretary of the Now Zealand Boxing Council wrote to "the Queensland Association asking for the dates, and pointing cut that the championships must not be held later than. September. Reoeiving no rep!}', he cabled, and was informed that the dates selected vrcie November 22, 24, and 29. He immediately cabled back refusing to accept the dates owing to the fact, that the New Zealnnders would be unfairly handicapped by having to compete in hot weather. A reply was received this week regretting that the dates could not be altered. This probably means that New Zealand will not be represented. In fixing the period for the holding of the championships the Australasian conference selected September deliberately, a 3 it was realised that the meeting must be held before the hot weather came on.
