PALMERSTON' NORTH REMITS. PALMERSTON N., March 1. In anticipation of the Patriotic Societies' Conference, to be helfi shortly in Wellington, the Manawatu Patriotic Society instructed its delegates to support the following remits:—(l) That the Manawatu Patriotic Society strongly favours the nationalisation of its funds with others, subject, however, to the same being controlled ■ by the Patriotic Societies' representatives, and aa outlined in the general scheme recently formulated by Mr Skerrett, K.C. (2) That, in the ' event of the Patriotic Societies deciding to retain and administer their own funds for disabled soldiers, it be a recommendation to your board that all societies should set aside a reasonable sum as a reserve fund to. meet relief for general aseistance in s hellshock and other cases, which will frequently recur for a considerable time to come. (3) That, failing nationalisation, the conference be asked to formulate a distribution fund to totally disabled and incapacitated soldiers, dependents, etc., and that the Advisory Board endeavour to fix the maximum amount with a percentage basis according to disablement.
