ARBITRATION COURT

The Arbitration Court (Mr Justice Stringer, president, and Messrs W. Scott and_ J. A. M'Oullaugh) opened its Dunedlin fcittings on Friday morning in the Supreme Court. A lengthy list of over 70 applications came before it. COMPLETE RECOMMENDATIONS. Complete recommendations were made in the Boot and Shoe Shop Assistants and the Thrashing Mill Employees awards. In the Otago Operative Plasterers' Dispute, Mr Paul appeared (or the union, and Mr Cookson for the employers.—Mr Cookson said there was a complete recommendation, and the agreement had been in operation since January 1. —Mr Evans, for the union, stated that there was a complete recommendation in the Dunedin Paper Mill Empleyees Dispute. Application was made to add on© party, and this was not opposed by Mr Cookson.—ln each of these four cases the court intimated that awards would be made. BONUS APPLICATIONS. The hearing of some applications were adjourned. WELLINGTON, r March 5. The Arbitration Court award in the Wel-lington-dairy employees' dispute fixes 48 hours a week to be worked on six days. This clause is to operate so long as the City Council shall allow or pay distributing companies an amount equal to the Wages of any additional workers required to brintr about a six-day week. Minimum rate of wages, £3 15s and a quart of milk.
