DOMESTIC TRAGEDY
(By Cable.) .MOTHER MURDERS SON. WARSAW, March 1. A peasant from the Ukrainian border, who was a war prisoner for three years, returned home to see his parents. He learned at the village inn that his parents believed him to be dead, and he decided in the first place to visit his home incognito. He knocked at the cottage door, produced a roll of notes, and secured a night's lodgings as a wandering stranger. His parents did not recognise him, and withdrew to a corner to hatch a plot for his murder, in order to obtain his money. His father went to the i/m for vodka, and the innkeeper congratulated him on his son's return. The father ran home, too late, as his wife met him at the door with a bloodstained knife in her hand. &he had killed her son.
