GOLDEN WEDDING.
On February 7 last Mr and Mrs Esplin celebrated their golden wedding at their residence, "Carisbrook," Dunedin. There was a large and happy gathering of relatives. A .brief and appropriate service was conducted by the Rev. R. Fairmaid *at the conclusion of which he read the following marriage certificate: "At the Presbyterian Church, Forfarshire, Scotland, by the Rev. J. Scott, David Esplin, calender, to Wilhilmina Hunter, third daughter of Robert Hunter, manufacturer, Montrose, on February 7, 1869." . Mr and Mrs Esplin arrived in Dunedin in 1875 by'the ship Auckland, and settled at Outram, where they resided for 29 years. They were much esteemed and highly respected. Sixteen years ago they removed to Dunedin. They had 10 of a family (six song and four daughters), of whom eight survive'. There are 30 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. After the wedding breakfast had been partaken of and several toasts had been honoured, Mr David Esplin, jun.. on behalf of the members of the family, presented the parents with a wellfilled purse The Rev. R. Fairmaid and Messrs Young (the groomsman pf 60 years ago). Smith, and John Grant cordially Joined in the felicitations extended fc> the worthy oouple on the attainment of the Jubilee of then 1 wedding-day.
