NEW WORLD'S RECORD.
AUCKLAND, March 6. Norman Ross swam 500 metres this afternoon in 6min 44 2-ssec, establishing a new world's record. The old record, heldl by J. G-. Hatfield (England), Was 6min 56sec. Invitation Race, 100 yards.—Frank Ross (America) 1, J. Enwright (Auckland) 2. The only starters. The time, 60&&C, was equal to New Zealand record established by Patterson (Wellington) at the recent championship meeting.
