LOCAL MATCHES. Another round of the Senior A Grade matches was commenced on Saturday, and will be continued next Saturday. Christian Brothers scored 129 against Carisbrook B, the latter's total being 125. Albion ran up a total of 296 against Carisbrook A. In the Third Grade contests High School A defeated John M'Glashan College by an innings and 66 runs. HAWKE'S BAY v. WELLINGTON. The Hawko's Bay v. Wellington match, played at Wellington on Saturday and yesterday, was won by the : home team by four wickets. Hawke's Bay batted first, and the innings realised 121, Stevens (38), O'Brien (24), and Charles" (23) being the principal contributors. Middleton, for Wellington, took six •wickets for 56 runs. Wellington made 119 in the first innings (Warne 55, Schrader 22). O'Connell took eight wickets for 48. Hawke's Bay's second innings olqsed for 95 (Fulton 24, Mills 16. O'Brien 16, Patterson 13). Middleton taking seven, wickets for 36. Wellington lost six ■wickets in the second innings hi malting 102 (Warne not out 39, Dind 18, Lambert 13, Middleton 11).

SOUTH AUSTRALIA v. VICTORIA. South Australia in their second innings against "Victoria, in the Sheffield Shield matoh made 543. C. E. Pellow made: 271. Rundle,s3V Smith 50, L. Pellew 47, and A.
