VESSEL UNDAMAGED
OPOTIKI. February 21.
The steamer Ngatiawa is still aground. Tho crew have been persevering in their efforts to tow the vessel off by means of large anchors and cables attached to steamers' winches, but last night the cables parted. Captain Hammond, assistant manager of tfoa Northern Company, is leaving Auckland this morning aboard the Chelmsford, which will bring new. gear. Tho weather is favourable, and tidal conditions are improving. The vessel is undamaged.
