ANSWERS TO CORRESPONDENTS
"Dairy Farmer," Galloway, writes and asks if "alsiko" can be fed off to cattle, or is there danger of their being blown. (2) A heifer has cut her teat by barb wire, and there is a small hole near the point. .The milk drops out, and when being milked comes out of th» two vents. Can this be cured when she is dry, etc? Agrioola replies:—(l) At this 93as"on of the year there should not be much risk of feeding off unless feed is very succulent and stock hungry. There is just the same risk in feeding on clover as another. It depends on its degree .of ripeness and whether moist when fed to cattle, etc. (2) There would be quite a good chance of curing teat after she is dry. This hole should 'be scraped out cleanly, properly disinfected, and sown, up. It is an easy job for a veterinarian. .
