On the 21st, on a beach within a tramride of Christchurch, a dress-of a somewhat unusual character was worn by a lady bather. The under dress reached, to/the knees, and' was worn with a. full skirt, black stockings, and .white; laced-up boots. The headgear to complete this unique toilette was a rubber hat with wide brim, trimmed with black daisies. Some gold bangles on one arm added a picturesque finish to a dress that attracted considerable attention as the wearer proceeded to and from the sea for her bathe.
