Apparently gras 3 seed is in good demand locally this season. An Ashburton farmer informed a Guardian reporter recently that he had just negotiated a salo of his seed at 5s 4d per bushel straight off the stripper. The guarantee list at Hokitika for next year's Chautauqua bears the signature of a nine-year-old boy—and he is up to the present the* youngest person to ever sign a Chautauqua guarantee.
