SHIPPING SHORTAGE.

MESSAGE FROM HIGH COMMISSONER, AUCKLAND, February 28. The Prime Minister received a cablegram from the High Commissioner to-day in regard to insulated shipping to the effect that during March 10 ships, of 3,081,000 cubio feet capacity, will load in New Zealand, and four ships, of 1,304,000 cubio feet, will load in April. Eleven ships previously allotted to April will be delayed till May or June. Sir Thomas Mackenzie says the Board of Trade regrets the delays, which are outside its.control. The board is endeavouring ■to obviate delays as far as the congestion is concerned by stimulating consumption. The shipping season for Australian fruit end 3 in April, and it will make arrangements for a large proportionate share of the tonnage thus available to be given to Now Zealand "to make good the diversions in the latter part of last year.
