The bankruptcy returns for the Wellingw ton district are most satisfactory. They show that during the year just 'ending only nine petitions have been filed with the Official Assignee (Mr S. Tansley). Last year's total was 15. During this month there have been no bankruptcies, as wad the case in December last year. In eight estates dividends weref paid, while during the past three months three estates paw 20is in the pound.
