EGYPT GENERAL MISSION
The annual meeting of the helpers in connection with the Egypt General Mission was held on the 22nd in the Y.M.C.A. rooms. There was a large attendance, and Mr A. Burn occupied the chair. r lhn local annual report, which waa read by Miss M. Gairdner (the honorary secretary), stated that in spite of many happenings which in themselves seemed adverse," the past year had been one of advancement.
The report of the Mission Field was read. The report of the Ladies' Auxiliary stated that owing to shipping difficulties no goods had been forwarded during the year, but it was hooed to send boxes of gifts for Christmas/ and . helpers were wanted to assist with the sewing of garments, etc. The balance sheet showed a credit in hand of £3l 18s lOd, as compared with £ls 133 at the conclusion of last financial year. The Rev. Arthur Hopper then gave a short description of the work as he had seen it in Egypt. The speaker urged the claims of the mission upon his hearers, and exhorted them to give it their full support, both financial and spiritual.
The meeting concluded, as it had begun with devotional exercises.
