TOUR OF THE PRINCE OF WALES.

(By Cable.) VANCOUVER, September 22. The Prince of Wales has completed his Transcontinental tour. Unexampled enthusiasm was shown at balls and at public luncheons.

Speaking at a luncheon at Vancouver, the Prince referred to General Botha's death as a blow to all Britishers. The Prince also announced that he had ended his visit to Canada, but his first sight of the Pacific Ocean on his arrival at Vancouver had reminded him of, the closeness of Australia and New Zealand, where, as in Canada, he had many friends, made during the Great War. He hoped to'visit these.great countries very soon. He had felt quite at home in Canada, and knew he would feel the same in Australia and New Zealand, where a great British civilisation is being built up under the Southern Cross. The glory won by the troops from these countries" at Gallipoli would never fade. The Canadians, who had fought alongside the Australians, knew their worth.

In the course of his luncheon speech the Prince said : "Those Canadians who fought side by side with Australian troops east of Amiens on August 8 last, year can never forget that that operation was one of those which shattered the whole German line south of the Somme and began the victorious advance of all the_ British armies from France and Belgium into Germany. The combined attack of the Old Country, Canadian, and Australian Divisions will always rank as one of the greatest feats of British arms. It represented in a very special wav the strength which the British Empire draws from the unity of its self-governing democracies. I like to recall it in this Canadian city, where I stand at one of the great meeting points of tihe British Commonwealth."
