Advice lias been received by the secretary of the Canterbury Education Board that the school at Awatuna, north of Hokitika, waa destroyed by fire on Saturday, 13th inst. (says tha Christchurch Press). It appears that there will be little difficulty in ascertaining the cause, a bush fire in the 'vicinity having spread to the school building. The school was a small one.
