For the financial year ended March 31, the sum of £4,'172.575 was collected in Customs duties in the dominion. The amounts taken at the principal ports of entry and the cost of collection were: —Wellington, £1,248,036, costing £1 8s Id per cent.; Auckland. £1.068,263, and £1 8s lid: Lvttolton. £560.781. and £1 14s 10d; Dunedin, £547,209, and £1 lis Id; Napier, £107,167. and £1 16s lOd. The average cost of collection of the whole sum was £1 10s 8d per cent. The cheapest port was Patea, where £9165 was collected at a cost of £1 Is 6d.
