RAILWAY ACCIDENT.
PASSENGERS' LUCKY ESCAPE. MA3.TON, September 20. Just as tho Auckland express was leaving Marton f.or. Palmerston North this morning three passenger cars left tho line and overturned. They were badly smashed. The accident is supposed to have happened through the rails spreading, as there was no other apparent cause. It is a miracle that no ono was hurt, as tho cars were full, and they turned over on their sides. Their platforms were broken, and the road was also ploughed up. The accident caused a delay of about two hours. The track will have to be built up around the Bceno of, tho accident, and it is not expected that tho damage will be completely repaired, till Uite to-mororw.
