FATALITY AT OTOKIA.
Mr P. Chisholm, J.P., and a jury of four held an inquest on the 22nd inst. at Otokia on tho body of Alfred Lobb, aged 20 years, who met his death on Wednesday by drowning in the flood waters. Tho evidence showed that the deceased was returning- to his work by way of Allanton, as it was not possible to. reach the farm (Mr Bryant's) > by the Otokia road. ; was unable to swim to shallow water. A verdict of accidental drowning was re- : turned, and a rider was added: "That the ; Taieri County Council bo asked to erect guide posts on the portion of tho road ; where the accident occurred so as to indicate tho road during flood time."
