MAN SHOOTS HIMSELF.
NAPIER, August 24. At Omahu, on Saturday morning, a man named Alfred Powdrell, who had been acting in a strange manner lately, blew off the top of his head with a shot-gun. As the result of complaints received concerning Powdrell's behaviour,' the Natives being afraid that he would shoot somebody, Constable Murray went out, and when he was within 30 yards of the deceased the latter put his head over the muzzlo of the gun, which had been standing nearby. He pushed the trigger with a stick, and death was instantaneous.
