TOUR OF THE PRINCE OF WALES.
(By Cable.) NEW YORK, August 18. The Prince of Wales landed at the same spot in Halifax where his grandfather (King Edward) landed in 1880 and his father (King George) in 1900. British, French, and Italian warships in the harbour fired a salute. ■ •■ The Prince visited that part of the city devastated by the explosion of the French munition ship Mount Blanc early in December, 1917. He received addresses from the_ Governor of Nova Scotia and "the municipality of Halifax and conferred decorations in the presence of a large crowd. OTTAWA, August 21. The Prince of Wales has arrived at Quebec. The Bishop of the Church of England and the'Cardinal of the Catholic Church and the Governor welcomed him. The Prince toured the city. In responding to loyal greetings he alluded to King Edward's visit to Quebec, and thanked the French Canadians for their Jk>yalty to the throne. August 25. The Prince of Wales has arrived at Toronto, and was greeted by thousands of people. In a speech the Prince thanked the Canadians for their magnificent war work. NEW YORK, August 24. The Prince of Wales and President Wilson exchanged letters by an airplane competing in the New York-Toronto race. Mr Wilson's letters invite the Prince to visit the United States. The Prince of Wales, in his letter, extends greetings to Americans.
