DOMINION SAWMILLS.
NO NECESSITY FOR CLOSING. WELLINGTON, August 26.' Mr R. W. Smith, M.P. for Waimarino, has received the following telegram from th G General Manager of Railways in reply to a request that a definite statement should bo made regarding the carrying of timber on the railways:—"Your telegram received re timber workers. Improvements whioh are now being made in the railway, services will enable sawmills to be carried on as usual."
