LORD JELLICOE'S TOUR
NO GOVERNMENT DECORATIONS. WELLINGTON, August 14. Cabinet has finally decided that there shall be no Government decorations or illuminations for Lord Jellicoe's visit. NEW ZEALAND'S MOVEMENTS. WELLINGTON, August 14. The Hon. G. W. Russell stated to-day that the New Zealand would arrive in Wellington on August 20, and would remain here until August 31, when she would leave for Lyttelton, remaining there until September 12. She will then s;o to Picton, returning to Wellington on September 14 and staying until September 17. She will arrive in Auckland on September 19, remaining there until October 1, when she will take her final departure from the dominion. The local members of Parliament and the Mayor on Thursday received telegrams in the following terms from Sir Jamea Allen, Minister of Defence: "Regret exceedingly to find that, owing to the coal trouble and the difficulty of entering the harbour, it is not possible to arrange for the battle cruiser New Zealand to visit Otago. Viscount Jellicoe will, however, pay a visit per|onaliy _to Dun'edin, travelling by motor from Christchurch. I cannot give the date at present, but vnderstand it will be between the Ist and 12th September. Will let you know definitely as soon as I am in a position to do so." The secretary of the Chamber of Commerce (Mr Peter Bare) sent a telegram to the Hon. G. W. Russell, urging that H.M.S. New Zealand should visit Otago, and has received a reply expressing regret that Viscount Jellicoe cannot tee his way to include Otago in the ship's itinerary, but stating that Viscount Jelliecoo hopes to fee able to visit the city with some of his senior officers.
