The Australian Jockey Ciub'e report shows that during tho past year £88,406 was distributed in stakes, the actual added money being £71,100. During tho current year it is proposed to increase the stakes by £4900. Tho total contributions for patriotic purposes amounted to £105,063. In addition to a number of smaller increases the club decided to increase the prize for the Villiers Stakes to £IOOO, and' those for the December Stakes and the Summer Cup each to £ISOO. Mr Stead's team arrived by the Niagara in good condition. August 12. Mr W. Kemball has secured Old Mungindi for 220 guineas. AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB. AUCKLAND, August 15. The Auckland Trotting Club has decided to give £16,100 in stakes for the coming season. The Aiickland Trotting Cup will be valued at £ISOO. FORBURY PARK TROTTING CLUB. The committee, in submitting tho annual statement of accounts, congratulates members on the success of the year's operations. At the commencement of the year the club had a credit balance at the bank of £494 13s 4d, and during the season it spent on permanent improvements, drainage, etc., £1621 8s 3d, and finished up with a credit balance of £869 lis 7d. The committee reports that a tender has been accepted for the erection of a stewards' and members' stand, at a cost of about £7OOO. This will supply a long-felt want, and provide ample accommodation for some years.
