Four, representing £935, were approved, one for £IOO withdrawn at applicant's own request, and one For £IOO was declined. Furniture Loans. —Fourteen applications. amounting to £690, were received, and all were approved. Transportation.—Assistance to enable a soldier to return to his pre-war occupation in Sydney was approved. Eleven apprentices applied to have their wages maae up to £3. Eight applications wera approved, two held over, and" one declined. Two soldiers who are unable to follow their pre-war occupations were placed in new trades, and their wages were subsidised. Four soldiers applied for assistance to purchase tools of trade. Three were approved, while one was held over. Nine applications for _ assistance in technical and university training were dealt with. . Six were approved, two held over, and one declined. A meeting of the committee on the sth was attended by the Hon. G. M. Thomson (president), and Messrs E. Rosevear, Wm. J Love, Hugh Mitchell, Peter Barr, W. T. Talboys, and D. Wright. The donations for the month amounted to £25 4s. The best thanks of the mission were given to Mr Rosevear for his valued years of service as hon. treasurer. It was reported that the president had sent a copy of the following resolution to the head masters of the schools at Maori Hill, Kaikorai, Albany Street, Forbuxy, and Arthur Street: —"That a letter of thanks be addressed to the head masters of each of the schools in which classes are hold by Mr Duncan Wright, expressing the pleasure and gratification felt by the committee at the help which has been afforded the misi sionary by them during all the years in j which his work has been carried out."
