Colonel Roosevelt devoted his Nobel Peace Prize, awarded to him when President of the United States, to war charities, and 50 guineas have been sent to the King's Fund For the disabled.
During 1918 there were seven bankruptcies in the Invercargill district, as against 15 the year before, the liabilities being £1202 and | the assets £355, compared with £10,200 and i £5246 respectively for 1917.
