ANSWERS TO CORRESPONDENTS. A. H.—The kind of hassock you want is made by taking two square pieces of material—82in is a good size—and joining •them together all round except at an opening in one side for the stuffing. Then run a gathering across each corner, and draw it up tight, making four little projecting "ears," audi stuff the hassock with flock or some other firm stuffing—-kapok is rather too soft for the purpose. Stitch a cord round to cover the join, in the materials-, drawing it in tight to give the hassock a sort of "waist," and giving it a twist over each "ear."
Rose.—l am afraid you will find it very difficult to take the grease-stains out of your leather handbag. Benzine is the only thing that is likely to remove them, andl if that is unsuccessful the only thing that I can suggest, if the. bag is a black one, is that you should apply a coat of black hat lacquer all over. This sometimes has a great effect in renovating a bag, and would prevent the eta-ins showing so badly.
