BOARD OF TRADE.
STANDARDISATION OF FOOTWEAR. WELLINGTON, January 11.
The Hon. W. D. S. MacDonald (Acting Minister of Labour) states that preparations are- ready for launching a scheme for the standardisation manufacture of boots. The Board of Trade's expert had visited the cities and taken range of samples of footwear representing lines intended for manufacture. Four samples were almost ready for issue by the factories-: As soon as the proprietors state which lines they will undertake the retail prices will be fixed. By the end of March standardised boots ought to bo on sale.
