LUCKENBACH LINE. Messrs Johnston, imd Co., local agente for the Luckonbach Lines, New York, received: cabled information last week that a chartered Swedish steamer —the Australic—would be loading in New York about the middle of this month for Dtmedin. and Lyttelfon. If sufficient cargo was not offering for the two New Zealand ports the vessel would also receive for Sydney. TRANS-PACIFIC. : The Wellington barque Ranpo and the. American schooner Mindoro cleared Wellington- on the 14th inst. for San Francisco. The Union steamer Flora cleared Auckland at midnight on the 7th for the FJasternPacific. ■ ' The Navua cleared <Wellington at 6.30 p.m. on the 7th with cargo only for San Francieco via Papeete. THE ORIENT LINE. The Union Steam Ship Company advises that the Orient passenger steamer Orontea is to leave Sydney towards, the end of February for London, via Colombo, S-uez, and Naples. The Orontes is to be followed at the end of February by the liners Oeterley and Orsova. FREIGHTS FROM NEW YORK. A Press Association telegram states that private advices received in Wellington announce that steamer freight© from New York to New Zealand have been reduced to 40dol per ton measurement and 37Jd0l by weight. OVERSEA VESSELS, Advice has been -received by the New Zealand Shipping Company to the effect that the R.M.'S>. Remuera arrived at Panama on the 4th inst. The liner left Wellington for Lon« don on December 12. The company has not yet received word of the arrival of the Paparoa, which left Wellington on December 11 for London, via Panama. Cable advice received states that the Shaw, Savill liner lonic arrived at the United Kingdom on December 31 from New Zealand. ' -

The New Zealand Shipping .Company,' agents for the French sailing ship Amirat Cecille, has been advised that the vessel left New York on October 18, cargo laden for Auckland and Wellington. The" vessel will visit both ports to discharge. The company, which is also agent for the sailing ship Terpsichore, has received newsi that ihe vessel left St. John, Canada, on December 23 for Wellington, via the Cape of G-ood Hope route. The vessel has a general cargo, including a Large quantity of paper for the New Zealand newspapers, 'all of which will be put out at Wellington. The Ruahine is due at Auckland on January 18 from England, via Panama. The steamev will visit Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, and is expected to sail for England from Wellington about February 14. The New Zealand and African Company's steamer Maunganui, with a draft of return ing soldiers aboard, arrived at Auckland on Thursday from England, via Panama. T'ho vessel will probably come to Port Chalmers, and after refitting there will load at one or two dominion ports for the United, Kingdom under the auspices of the New Zealand j Shipping Gompany. The Ulimaxoa is to leave Wellington next t Wednesday for London, via Panama. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion liner Burma left Glasgow on December 13 for New Zealand, via Australian ports. She is duo about the end of this month, but the local agents have no information concerning her movements in New Zealand waters. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion liner Mamari left Liverpool on December 22 for Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is coming via the Suez Canal and Capetown. The vessel is due at this port about the end of February, and on completion of discharge will load at various dominion ports for London. The White Star liner Suevic is due at Auckland about January 17 from London, via Australian ports. The Suevic will difcharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is due here about the end) of this month. The UHmaroa is to leave Wellington on Wednesday for London, via Panama. The barque Albert is still discharging case oil at Tiraaru from San Francisco. On completion of discharge it is probable that the vessel will take cargo from Timaru for San Francisco direct. The barque Glodbrook, whose loading has been delayed by rain, is to leave Port Chalmers about the middle of the week for San Francisco. The troopship Tahiti arrived at Port Chalmers early on Sunday forenoon from London, via Panama. After discharge and refitting she will be loaded at New Zealand ports for England by the Federal-Shire Company. According to cable advice the New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Ruapehu left London on her due "date, January 8, for Auck< lend, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, via Panama. The steamer is due at Auckland on February 18, and should reach Dunedin about the end of the month. The Ruapehu will load again at New Zealand ports for Loudon. The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the liner Remuera left Colon on January 5. in continuation of her voyage to London. She left Wellington mi December 12. The Federal Shire liner Devon cleared Wellington on Thursday evening for Port Said, via Colombo. The steamer Cluny Castle, which loaded *n Kew Zealand in November last, under charter to the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Line, has arrived at Newport Neww rrom Wellington. The vessel left Wellington on November 28 for London via Panama, The C. and D. liner Port Lyttelton left Auckland on Sunday morning for Wellington to complete discharge of her London cargo, after which she will load at several ports for Egypt. The restriction placed on Wangauni by the naval authorities has been lifted, and the Port Lyttelton will load 61,000 carcases of frozen meat there.
