OTAGO LAND BOARD.

■ The monthly meeting of the Otago Land Board was held on the Bth, and attended by Messrs R. T. Sadd (commissioner), T. A. MunrOj G. Livingstone, J. Smith, and 0. J. Inder. The Maerewhenua Commonage Committee applied for a renewal of the commonage lease for nine months to November 1,1919. — Granted at a rental of £SO. Mr A. J. M'Culloch notified that he was unable to avail himself of the grazing right granted by the Land Board over area in block XIX, Tuapeka East district.—Cancelled.

Mr Ninian Diincan applied for a grazing: right over part of reserve fronting section 48, block I, Upper Taieri, about 25 acres.— Granted at 10s 6d per annum. Mr George Armitage applied for a grazing right over an area in block 111, Blackstone. —Granted at £1 per annum, subject to payment of arrears of rent. Mr_ George Gould applied for the right to mine for slate on section 15, block XIII, Moeraki. —Granted at 20s per annum for a term of one year. Mr Henry Law applied for a miscellaneous lease over land adjoining run No. 306 a, held by him.—Granted at £5 per annum until the Kyeburn runs are finally dealt with. Mr G. L. Bertenshaw applied for a pastoral license over sections 3, 13, 14, 16, 19, block IV, and section 17, and part of 14, block V, Waipori (held by executors of late Robert Cotton), and sections 2, 11, 12, 13, and parts of 14 and 15, held by Commonage Committee, also mining reserve to the river boundary, about 4400 acres.— Refused. Mr R. A. Ewing applied to purchase for cash quarter-acre section in Waihola township, held by him under lease (Education endowment). —Declined. Ranger O'Neill reported that Mr O. R. Churchill, lessee of sections 88, 89, block VIII, Leaning Rock, was not residing thereon. —The lessee was allowed six months to take up residence.
